"Eating is one of my few remaining pleasures; God wouldn't want me to lose that too."
How it sounds in your head: You can't travel like you used to, sex has declined, hobbies exhaust you, friends are dying. Food is reliable comfort, predictable pleasure. Surely God doesn't begrudge you this one consistent joy in a shrinking life.
"Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who trusts in Him!"
-- Psalm 34:8Enemy substitution: Satan offers food as false comforter to replace God's actual abundant provision.
Life IS narrowing—limitations are real, losses pile up, and food DOES bring temporary comfort. It feels cruel to take away what little pleasure remains.
She had ONE MEAL left for her and her son before starvation. She gave it to Elijah in obedience, and IMMEDIATELY the flour and oil never ran out—DAILY fresh supply for YEARS. God replaced scarcity thinking with supernatural abundance INSTANTLY.
I REFUSE the lie that food is my only remaining pleasure and God would take it away. IT IS WRITTEN to taste and see that the LORD is good—He GIVES satisfaction that food can't touch. IT IS WRITTEN the widow gave her last meal and got ENDLESS daily supply. God doesn't REMOVE joy; He MULTIPLIES it beyond what food could ever provide. I am under the BARAK blessing—abundance, provision, and pleasure are my inheritance. Father runs toward me with the fattened calf, the best wine, JOY that doesn't fade. I taste HIM and am satisfied.
Father isn't prying food from your hands to leave you empty. He's the God who throws FEASTS, multiplies bread, turns water into FINEST wine. He's running toward you with pleasures that don't leave you guilty or empty—abundance that SATISFIES soul and body.
