"Eating is dangerous; food will make me lose control and ruin my body"
How it sounds in your head: Every meal feels like a battle. What if I eat too much? What if I can't stop? Food feels like the enemy, and my body feels like a problem I have to solve. Restricting is the only way to feel safe.
"Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?"
-- Matthew 6:25-26Enemy weaponizing provision to create fear, twisting God's gift of nourishment into a threat.
Diet culture + control trauma make her believe safety = restriction. Her body is changing without permission, so controlling food feels like reclaiming power.
She had ONE meal left for her and her son, then expected to starve to death. Elijah asked her to feed HIM first. She obeyed in faith, and 'the bin of flour was not used up, nor did the jar of oil run dry... according to the word of the Lord.' INSTANT, SUPERNATURAL provision that NEVER ran out. Eating didn't deplete her—it MULTIPLIED her supply.
I REFUSE the lie that food is my enemy. IT IS WRITTEN that my heavenly Father feeds me with JOY, and I am more valuable than the sparrows He cares for. Food is not a threat—it's His provision, blessed and multiplied in my life. IT IS WRITTEN that He satisfies my mouth with good things so that my youth is renewed like the eagle's. I am BARAK BLESSED—commanded blessing on my storehouse. I eat without fear, trusting my Father's goodness. My body is SAFE in His hands.
The Father doesn't want you to fear eating—He wants you to FEAST. He's the God of abundance, not scarcity. He's not rationing your joy or waiting for you to mess up. He's setting a table before you and inviting you to taste and see that HE is good.
