"Christians don't practice what they preach, so why should I listen?"
How it sounds in your head: You've watched the marriage ministry couple file for divorce. The financial peace teacher declare bankruptcy. The purity culture leader's affair. They held you to standards they couldn't keep themselves, and you're done with the gap between platform and private life.
"So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it."
-- Isaiah 55:11Source: religious leadership that taught principles they hadn't walked, creating systems of 'do as I say not as I do' that destroyed trust in spiritual authority.
The evidence is overwhelming. You've seen behind enough curtains to know the wizards are just broken people with microphones, and their failure to live their message makes you question whether the message itself is real.
Racist, angry prophet who ran from God, got swallowed by a fish, then preached the world's most reluctant sermon hoping Nineveh would be destroyed. He was a terrible messenger with a bad attitude. Yet the entire city - 120,000 people - repented because the WORD was true regardless of the messenger's heart. God's truth transcends human brokenness.
I REFUSE the lie that human failure invalidates divine truth. IT IS WRITTEN that God's Word does not return void but accomplishes what HE pleases. The message is tested by Jesus, not by broken messengers. I am Abraham's seed, and the BARAK blessing flows from covenant, not from perfect leaders. IT IS WRITTEN that even if we are faithless, He remains faithful because He cannot deny Himself. I am the righteousness of God in Christ, and my faith rests on HIS finished work, not their unfinished character. The Word stands regardless of the messenger.
The Father knows you've been hurt by leaders who couldn't live what they taught. He's not asking you to trust them again - He's asking you to trust HIM. The Prodigal's older brother was a hypocrite too, but the Father still threw the party. Your invitation doesn't depend on other people getting it right.
