"Christianity is just one of many religions—how can it be the only truth?"
How it sounds in your head: You learned about Buddhism, Islam, Hinduism, and they all claim to be true. What makes Christianity right and everyone else wrong? That feels arrogant and narrow-minded. Maybe all paths lead to God.
"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.'"
-- John 14:6World: Pluralism that sounds humble but denies absolute truth, tolerance that tolerates everything except exclusivity.
You have friends from other religions who are good people, and claiming Jesus is the ONLY way feels judgmental. Relativism feels kinder and more intellectually sophisticated.
Paul stood in Athens surrounded by statues to EVERY god, including an altar 'TO THE UNKNOWN GOD.' He didn't say 'all paths are valid'; he said 'I'm declaring the REAL God you don't know yet'—instant clarity that Christ isn't one option among many but the fulfillment of what all are searching for.
I REFUSE the lie that all religions are equal paths. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus said 'I am THE way'—not A way, THE way. This isn't arrogance; it's truth. Other religions have people reaching UP to God; Christianity has God reaching DOWN to people. IT IS WRITTEN that Paul didn't validate other gods on Mars Hill but declared the REAL God. Christianity is unique because it's not about what we DO to reach God but what GOD DID to reach us through Jesus. I'm under the BARAK blessing—Abraham was called OUT of other religions to worship the one true God. The Father isn't one option on a menu; He's the Chef who made the menu, and He sent Jesus as the ONLY meal that satisfies eternal hunger.
The Father sees you wrestling with wanting to be inclusive and not offend people, and He loves your compassion. He's showing you that the most LOVING thing is to point people to the REAL solution, not validate paths that don't lead to life—and He'll give you His heart for the lost, not judgment.
