"Biblical prosperity is only spiritual—physical wealth proves you're distracted from real treasure"
How it sounds in your head: You've heard 'store up treasures in heaven' so many times you feel guilty wanting a house. Real Christians care about souls, not stuff. If you had more faith, you wouldn't even think about money.
"Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers."
-- 3 John 1:2Source: Religion creating false dichotomy between spiritual and physical blessing to keep people passive in poverty
Jesus talked about rich men and camels and needles. Missionaries live sacrificially. The most spiritual people you know struggle financially and seem okay with it, so wanting more feels carnal.
Isaac sowed in famine and reaped a hundredfold the same year because the Lord blessed him. He became so wealthy—flocks, herds, servants—that the Philistines envied him and the king asked him to leave because he was too prosperous.
I REFUSE the lie that biblical prosperity is only spiritual while physical wealth is worldly. IT IS WRITTEN in 3 John 1:2 that God wants me to prosper in ALL THINGS and health just as my soul prospers. The same covenant that blessed Isaac until kings envied him is MINE through Christ. IT IS WRITTEN in Deuteronomy 28:12 that the Lord commands blessing on my storehouses and all I set my hand to. I am not more spiritual because I'm broke—I'm blessed in spirit, soul, body, and bank account by the blood. Heaven's treasure AND earth's provision are both mine NOW.
The Father doesn't love you more when you're struggling financially. He's the one who blessed Isaac into wealth so great it made kings nervous—and that same covenant runs in your veins through Jesus.
