"Kingdom wealth means just enough to get by. Overflow and abundance are worldly greed."
How it sounds in your head: Jesus was poor. Apostles lived simply. Wanting more than basic needs covered sounds like prosperity-gospel heresy. I should be content with my modest retirement and stop wanting overflow.
"The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly."
-- John 10:10Religion twisted poverty into piety, contradicting the God whose glory filled the temple so heavily the priests couldn't stand and who promised ABUNDANCE.
He's been taught 'simple living' is holiness and excess is sin. Missionaries raise support, so shouldn't he live humbly too? At 72, wanting abundance feels less spiritual than accepting just-enough-to-survive as godly contentment.
The wedding ran out of wine—social disaster. Jesus didn't provide 'just enough to finish the party.' He made 180 GALLONS of the FINEST wine from water. Extravagant overflow was His FIRST miracle, setting the tone for Kingdom abundance.
I REFUSE the lie that Kingdom wealth is poverty. IT IS WRITTEN Jesus came to give ABUNDANT life—that's MORE than enough, not less. I am Abraham's seed, and the BARAK made him VERY RICH, not barely surviving. IT IS WRITTEN I am blessed in ALL the work of my hands (Deuteronomy 28:8). The God who made 180 gallons of finest wine doesn't do 'just enough.' Overflow glorifies Him, and I RECEIVE it without guilt. I walk in MORE THAN ENOUGH to bless myself, my family, and the Kingdom.
Your Father isn't handing you a poverty spirit disguised as humility—He's the Dad who killed the FATTENED calf (the expensive one saved for special occasions) for the son who blew everything. He celebrates you with ABUNDANCE, not rationing.
