"All religions say the same thing. Christianity is just my cultural accident. I could have been Hindu or Muslim."
How it sounds in your head: If I'd been born in India, I'd be Hindu. In Saudi Arabia, Muslim. How can I claim Christianity is uniquely true when it's mostly about where you were born? Maybe they're all paths to the same place, and I'm being arrogant claiming mine is right.
"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.'"
-- John 14:6Postmodern relativism that treats truth as cultural construct rather than objective reality to be discovered.
He's lived long enough to see genuine devotion in other religions and knows geography largely determines belief. The cultural arrogance of Western Christianity made exclusive claims feel colonial rather than true.
Cornelius was devout, prayed constantly, gave to the poor, feared God—but still needed to hear about Jesus. An angel appeared and told him to send for Peter because good religion wasn't enough; he needed the Gospel of Christ specifically.
I REFUSE the lie that all religions lead to the same God. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus is THE way, not A way—no one comes to the Father except through Him. Every other founder is dead and buried; Jesus is ALIVE. Every other religion demands performance; Jesus offers finished work. Buddha can't save me from death. Muhammad can't give me the Holy Spirit. Krishna can't forgive my sin. Only Jesus died FOR me, rose FOR me, and lives IN me. IT IS WRITTEN that there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved. This isn't cultural arrogance—it's response to historical resurrection. Geography doesn't determine truth; evidence does, and empty tomb is evidence.
The Father didn't randomly assign you Christianity like a lottery—He orchestrated every circumstance to bring you to the only name that saves. While you've questioned whether Christ is exclusive, He's been exclusively pursuing you for 90 years, and He's about to bring you home.
