"After this many failures, God must be ready to give up on me."
How it sounds in your head: There's a limit to how many times someone can fail before you stop trying. You're sixty-nine, and you've failed more times than you can count. Even God has limits. He must be ready to cut His losses.
"Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ."
-- Philippians 1:6Source: Religion's 'three strikes you're out' theology projected onto God, making His commitment conditional on performance.
Human relationships have limits—people DO give up after repeated failures. You've been cut off before. Why would God be different?
Israel complained, rebelled, built golden calves, wanted to return to Egypt, grumbled constantly for FORTY YEARS. Moses asked God to forgive them, and God said 'I have pardoned according to your word.' Forty years of failure—still PARDONED.
I REFUSE the lie that God is ready to give up on me. IT IS WRITTEN: He who began a good work in me will COMPLETE it—not abandon it, not quit halfway. My Father doesn't cut His losses; He FINISHES what He starts. IT IS WRITTEN: His love NEVER FAILS. I am Abraham's seed—the BARAK blessing covered MURDERERS and DECEIVERS and didn't quit. I am under BETTER covenant through BETTER blood. God doesn't quit on His sons.
Your Father will never give up on you—He doesn't operate on a 'three strikes' system. Like the prodigal's father, He doesn't say 'that's it, I'm done'; He says 'bring the BEST ROBE' and throws a PARTY.
