"God regrets choosing me; I'm not living up to my calling"
How it sounds in your head: God had plans for me—I could feel it. But I've made too many wrong turns, wasted too much time. He's probably regretting the investment, wishing He'd picked someone more reliable.
"For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable."
-- Romans 11:29Source: Performance-based calling theology that treats God's choice like a business transaction He can cancel
He feels the gap between what he sensed God could do through him and where he actually is—dropped out of ministry program, stopped leading worship, moral failures. The disconnect makes God's calling feel revoked.
Samson broke every Nazarite vow—slept with prostitutes, told Delilah his secret, lost his strength and his eyes. In his final prayer, blind and enslaved, God STILL answered and gave him strength one last time to accomplish his greatest victory.
I REFUSE the lie that God regrets choosing me. IT IS WRITTEN that the gifts and calling of God are IRREVOCABLE—He doesn't do refunds on His choices. My detours don't disqualify His destination for me. IT IS WRITTEN in Philippians 1:6 that He who BEGAN a good work in me will complete it—God doesn't abandon projects, He finishes them. I am chosen according to the BARAK blessing of Abraham, which operated through liars and failures. God's choice of me wasn't based on my résumé. It was based on His purpose, and THAT doesn't change.
The Father doesn't have buyer's remorse. He chose you knowing every failure in advance, and He's not surprised or disappointed—He's committed to completing what He started, and your wrong turns are already factored into His redemption plan.
