"God is disappointed I wasted so many years and didn't accomplish what He wanted."
How it sounds in your head: I'm at the finish line and I've let Him down. All those years I could have done more, served more, been more. I'm standing before Him as a failure who squandered the life He gave me.
"And Jesus said to him, 'Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.'"
-- Luke 23:43Source: Religion taught God's love is based on ministry output and productivity metrics, not covenant relationship.
Looking back over 90+ years, he sees all the missed opportunities, the times he chose career over ministry, the decades he wasn't 'on fire.' The ticking clock makes every past failure feel permanent and unredeemable.
A criminal dying for his crimes had accomplished nothing for God, wasted his entire life, and had hours left to live. Jesus gave him INSTANT paradise with zero works, zero ministry, zero productivity—just one request to be remembered.
I REFUSE the lie that God measures my life by productivity metrics and ministry output. IT IS WRITTEN that the thief on the cross entered paradise with ZERO accomplishments, and I have the SAME blood covering me. I am not defined by what I did or didn't do—I am defined by what JESUS DID. IT IS WRITTEN that there is NO condemnation for those in Christ Jesus. My Father is not disappointed—He is RUNNING toward me with a robe and a ring. I am the RIGHTEOUSNESS of God in Christ, and that is GIFT, not achievement. The BARAK blessing over my life was never based on my performance—it was based on COVENANT, and that covenant is sealed in better blood than Abraham ever knew.
Your Father is not standing at the finish line with a scorecard—He's standing there with open arms and a party planned. The same Jesus who told a dying criminal 'Paradise TODAY' is telling you: 'Well done, beloved son—come home.'
