"God is frustrated I never conquered certain sins and I'm dying with them."
How it sounds in your head: I'm about to meet God face to face and I still struggle with lust, with pride, with anger. I thought I'd have victory by now. Instead I'm crossing over with unfinished business. God must be frustrated that I never fully overcame.
"Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me."
-- Philippians 3:12Source: Religion taught sanctification as prerequisite for acceptance rather than result of acceptance, making ongoing struggle proof of God's displeasure.
He expected decades of walking with God to result in complete victory over besetting sins. Dying while still battling temptation feels like meeting God unprepared, like showing up to graduation without passing the final exam.
Moses struck the rock in anger instead of speaking to it—a sin of anger and disobedience that cost him entry to the Promised Land. He died with that 'unconquered' anger issue, yet God Himself buried him and he appeared in glory at the Transfiguration—fully accepted.
I REFUSE the lie that I must conquer every sin before I die to be accepted by God. IT IS WRITTEN that Paul himself wasn't 'perfected' at the end of his life—he was still pressing on. Moses died with unconquered anger and God buried him with honor. IT IS WRITTEN that by ONE offering Jesus has PERFECTED FOREVER those who are being sanctified. I am PERFECTED and BEING sanctified simultaneously—perfect position, ongoing process. My Father is not frustrated—He is SATISFIED by the blood of Jesus. That blood covers what I conquered AND what I didn't. The BARAK blessing wasn't based on sin-free living. I am crossing over CLEAN because of the LAMB.
Your Father isn't frustrated by your ongoing struggle—He's welcoming you home based on Jesus' FINISHED work. You're not coming to Him dirty; you're coming to Him washed in the blood of the Lamb, and that makes you absolutely clean.
