"After all these years of faith, I'm starting to doubt everything I once believed was true."
How it sounds in your head: You've been in church for fifty years, and now you're questioning it all? Maybe you never really believed. Maybe it was all just tradition and family expectations. At your age, you should be solid, not shaking.
"Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, 'Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!'"
-- Mark 9:24Religion taught doubt equals failure; enemy exploits honest questions as proof of apostasy.
Decades of seeing unanswered prayers and church hypocrisy have accumulated. Physical decline makes abstract faith harder when you need concrete help now.
Thomas refused to believe unless he saw physical proof, doubting the other disciples' testimony for a full week. Jesus appeared specifically for Thomas, invited him to touch the wounds, and called him 'My Lord and my God' - no rebuke, just presence.
I REFUSE the lie that my questions disqualify me from God's love. IT IS WRITTEN that the father with unbelief still received his son's healing. My doubts don't change God's nature - He runs toward questioners, not away from them. IT IS WRITTEN in Romans 8:38-39 that NOTHING separates me from His love - not doubt, not questions, not confusion. I am Abraham's seed by covenant, and the BARAK protected him even when he lied about Sarah twice. If the blessing covered his deception, it covers my honest wrestling. I receive the mind of Christ and fresh revelation NOW.
The Father sees your questions as intimacy, not betrayal - you're wrestling WITH Him, not against Him. He's been preparing answers before you formed the questions, running toward you with the robe of sonship while you're still rehearsing your 'make me a servant' speech.
