"Christianity is just another religion—they all basically teach the same thing"
How it sounds in your head: My world religions class shows similarities everywhere. Coexist bumper stickers make sense—why is Christianity the only way? That sounds arrogant and exclusive. Maybe all paths lead to the same place.
"Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."
-- Acts 4:12Universalism sounds compassionate but collapses under the weight of Christ's unique claim—resurrection isn't one option among many.
She's being taught cultural sensitivity without theological clarity, and the exclusivity of Christ feels socially awkward. She values inclusion and fears appearing judgmental, so 'many paths' feels kinder than 'one way.'
Lydia was a worshiper of God through Judaism—already religious, already devout, already praying. Yet when she heard Paul preach Christ, 'the Lord opened her heart' to a completely new reality. Her previous religion was preparation, not destination.
I REFUSE the lie that all religions lead to God. IT IS WRITTEN there is NO OTHER NAME by which we must be saved—not arrogance, just reality. Every religion demands DO; only Jesus declares DONE. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus claimed to BE the way, not show a way. I am the BARAK blessed daughter with access to the risen Savior who conquered death—Buddha's bones are still in the ground; Jesus's tomb is empty. Christianity isn't one religion among many—it's the announcement that religion is over and relationship has begun.
The Father isn't competing with other religions—He's the only one who stopped demanding and started giving. He's inviting you to rest in finished work instead of endless striving toward an impossible standard.
