"You're too young to have wisdom or insight worth listening to. Stay quiet until you've lived more."
How it sounds in your head: You have an idea in a meeting and adults smile-nod then continue like you didn't speak. You see solutions clearly but get told 'you'll understand when you're older why that won't work.' You're sharp, you're bright, you SEE things—but your insights get dismissed as naivety instead of fresh perspective.
"But there is a spirit in man, and the breath of the Almighty gives him understanding. Great men are not always wise, nor do the aged always understand justice."
-- Job 32:8-9Source: Culture's age hierarchy that equates years lived with intelligence gained, ignoring that wisdom is a GIFT from God, not an accumulation of birthdays.
Literally every time you share an idea, adults either ignore it or explain why 'it's more complicated than that' like your brain isn't fully formed yet. They SAY they want your input but their body language screams 'we're humoring you.'
Elihu was the youngest man in the conversation with Job and his three older friends, and he waited respectfully while they spoke. But then he said 'I am young in years, and you are very old; therefore I was afraid to declare my opinion to you'—but proceeded to give the MOST ACCURATE theological perspective of all of them. Age didn't equal wisdom; God's Spirit did.
I REFUSE the lie that my age disqualifies my wisdom or insight. IT IS WRITTEN that understanding comes from the breath of the Almighty, not from years lived—and I have that breath in me NOW. IT IS WRITTEN that great men are not always wise and the aged don't always understand justice, which means wisdom isn't gated by age. Elihu was the youngest in the room and the most accurate—I have the same Spirit of wisdom he had. I don't need decades of mistakes to learn what the Holy Spirit can teach me in a moment. I have the mind of Christ, which means I have ACCESS to infinite wisdom right now—not someday when I'm 'old enough.' My insights are valid, my perspectives matter, and my voice deserves to be heard because I am connected to the Source of all knowledge. I speak with wisdom because Wisdom Himself lives in me.
The Father doesn't tell you to sit quietly in the corner until you've earned your voice through years—He's put His SPIRIT in you, which means you carry divine perspective RIGHT NOW. He's the God who confused the wise with the mouths of babes, who reveals truth to children that eludes scholars—He LOVES using young voices to speak what the 'experienced' have missed.
