"You're too old to dream or believe for miracles—that's for the young and hopeful."
How it sounds in your head: You watch younger believers worship with hands raised, declaring breakthrough with expectancy you used to have. But you've seen enough prayers go unanswered, enough promises feel delayed. Maybe miracles are for the young who haven't been disappointed yet. Maybe wisdom is lowering expectations.
"But My servant Caleb, because he has a different spirit in him and has followed Me fully, I will bring into the land where he went, and his descendants shall inherit it."
-- Numbers 14:24Enemy strategy using disappointment to replace FAITH with resignation, calling it 'maturity' and 'realistic.'
You've lived long enough to bury friends who prayed for healing. You've watched promises feel delayed for decades. Hope deferred has made your heart sick (Proverbs 13:12).
Elizabeth was barren and 'well advanced in years'—everyone had given up hope. Then an angel appeared and she conceived John the Baptist. The miracle baby who prepared the way for Jesus came from a womb everyone called DEAD. One word from God—INSTANT conception.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm too old to dream or believe. IT IS WRITTEN that Caleb had a DIFFERENT SPIRIT at 85 and took the mountain with GIANTS. Abraham received the miracle at 100, Elizabeth conceived 'well advanced in years.' IT IS WRITTEN that with God NOTHING is impossible—not 'nothing for young people,' NOTHING. Period. Disappointment didn't disqualify me—it PREPARED me to see God do the IMPOSSIBLE. Like Caleb, I have a different spirit. I'm asking for the HARD things—because MY God specializes in miracles for those the world counts out.
Your Father doesn't look at your age and downgrade His promises to 'realistic expectations'—He looks at decades of faithfulness and says 'NOW I'll show you what I can do.' He's running toward you with the miracle you stopped asking for, the dream you buried, the IMPOSSIBLE you let go. He kept it. And He's delivering it NOW.
