"You're not old enough to hear from God directly. You need pastors and parents to hear for you."
How it sounds in your head: Real spiritual experiences are for adults who've studied the Bible for decades. You're too young to discern God's voice from your own thoughts. Stay in your lane—let the grown-ups handle the God stuff.
"But the LORD said to me: 'Do not say, I am a youth, for you shall go to all to whom I send you, and whatever I command you, you shall speak.'"
-- Jeremiah 1:7Source: Religious gatekeeping that creates a priestly class between God and people, opposite of the torn veil.
Adults constantly correct your theology. Youth pastors tell you what God says instead of teaching you to hear Him yourself. You feel like a spiritual second-class citizen until you're older.
Josiah became king at age 8 and 'did what was right in the sight of the LORD.' At 8 years old, he had better discernment than all the adults who'd led the nation into idolatry. God trusted a child to reform an entire nation.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm too young to hear God's voice. IT IS WRITTEN that God told Jeremiah 'do not say I am a youth'—my age is irrelevant to my access. I have the same Holy Spirit as any pastor, elder, or saint. The veil was TORN—there is no spiritual hierarchy between me and the Father. IT IS WRITTEN that my sheep hear my voice—I am His sheep, therefore I HEAR. I don't need a mediator; I have direct access through the blood of Jesus. I hear, I obey, I speak what He commands.
The Father isn't keeping you at arm's length until you're 'mature enough.' He tore the veil from top to bottom so you could run into the Holy of Holies at 14 the same way a 70-year-old saint does—full access, no waiting period.
