"You're just average. Nothing special. Everyone else has something but you don't."
How it sounds in your head: Look at the guys who are good at sports, smart, funny, talented. You're just...there. Background character in everyone else's story. Generic. Forgettable.
"But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light."
-- 1 Peter 2:9Comparison trap from social media and performance culture that measures worth by metrics instead of identity.
Every college application asks what makes you unique and you have no answer. Everyone else seems to have found their thing and you're still waiting to discover yours.
Amos was just a shepherd and fig farmer, no training, no credentials, not even a prophet's son. God grabbed him from behind the flock and made him a prophet to nations—instant commissioning with zero qualifications.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm average or nothing special. IT IS WRITTEN that I am a CHOSEN generation, ROYAL priesthood, God's own SPECIAL people. I don't need to prove I'm unique—God MADE me unique. IT IS WRITTEN that I am fearfully and wonderfully made, that God's works are wonderful. The BARAK blessing makes me the head and not the tail, above only and not beneath. I am not measured by Instagram metrics or college applications. I am measured by the Father's declaration: MINE.
The Father isn't comparing you to anyone. He's looking at you the way He looked at Amos behind the sheep—seeing a PROPHET when everyone else saw a farmer. What He speaks over you is ALREADY TRUE.
