"Your struggles prove you're defective. Everyone else has it together but you."
How it sounds in your head: You battle anxiety, depression, porn, doubt—things other people seem to overcome easily. Something must be broken in you. You're fundamentally flawed. You're the problem.
"And He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me."
-- 2 Corinthians 12:9Condemnation from religion that measures righteousness by struggle instead of by Christ's finished work.
You pray, read, try harder, and still battle the same things. Other people's testimonies are about victory; yours is about failure. The struggle itself feels like evidence you're defective.
Disciples asked whose sin caused his blindness—his or his parents? Jesus said NEITHER, that he was born blind so God's works could be revealed. One command, instant healing—the struggle wasn't punishment, it was SETUP for glory.
I REFUSE the lie that my struggles prove I'm defective. IT IS WRITTEN that God's grace is SUFFICIENT, that His strength is made PERFECT in my weakness. My battles don't define me—Christ's BLOOD does. IT IS WRITTEN that there is NO condemnation for those in Christ. I am not broken—I am HUMAN, covered by a perfect Savior. The BARAK protected liars, deceivers, and murderers—it covers my struggles too. I boast in my weakness because that's where HIS POWER rests on me.
The Father sees your struggle and He's not disappointed—He's leaning in with GRACE. Like the man born blind, your battle isn't about sin; it's about SETUP for His glory to show up.
