Worthless
"I'm just taking up resources that could be better used by younger, more productive people."

How it sounds in your head: You're consuming more than you're producing. Healthcare costs, salary for diminishing output, space and resources that a hungrier, younger person would leverage better. You're holding a position someone else could excel in. Step aside and stop being a resource drain.

Psalm 92:12-14

"The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree, he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those who are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bear fruit in old age; they shall be fresh and flourishing."

-- Psalm 92:12-14
Enemy whispers: You're a resource drain. BUT IT IS WRITTEN: Psalm 92:12-14 - 'The righteous shall FLOURISH like a palm tree... They shall STILL bear fruit in old age; they shall be FRESH and FLOURISHING.' Still. Flourishing. Fresh. Not draining—FLOURISHING. Your value isn't measured by productivity metrics. IT IS WRITTEN in Romans 8:17, 'If children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ.' Heirs don't earn their inheritance by productivity—they receive it by POSITION. You're an heir, not a resource drain.
Quick Truth: LIE: Resource drain. TRUTH: Righteous STILL bear fruit in old age—fresh & flourishing. Ps 92:12-14, Rom 8:17

Utilitarian worldview that measures human value by current productivity rather than inherent worth and covenant identity.

Why this feels true:

Your medical expenses are rising, your energy is declining, and you can see younger colleagues producing more output with less input. The efficiency metrics suggest you're past peak ROI, and you wonder if you're selfishly holding onto a position for security rather than contribution.

Luke 2:25-32
Simeon

Simeon was an old man waiting in the temple, seemingly doing nothing but taking up space, when the Spirit moved him to be in position the exact day Mary and Joseph brought Jesus. His 'unproductive' waiting positioned him to hold Messiah and prophesy over Him—his moment came in old age, not youth.

Speak this out loud

I REFUSE the lie that I'm a resource drain. IT IS WRITTEN that the righteous shall STILL bear fruit in old age and be FRESH and FLOURISHING, and I receive that as my reality NOW. I am not consuming resources selfishly—I am POSITIONED by the Father for assignments that require my exact season. IT IS WRITTEN that I am an heir of God and joint heir with Christ, and heirs don't measure value by productivity—they walk in IDENTITY. The BARAK blessing on my life means I am BLESSED coming in and going out, and my presence releases blessing, not drain. I declare I am FRESH, FLOURISHING, and bearing fruit that only this season can produce. I am exactly where I'm supposed to be, holding exactly what I'm supposed to hold, positioned for the moment only I can steward.

But God actually:

The Father isn't looking at you as a resource allocation problem—He's looking at you as Simeon, positioned by the Spirit for the exact moment when your presence, your wisdom, your season is the KEY to something only you can steward. He's running toward you with fresh fruit, flourishing life, and assignments that your 'taking up space' is actually POSITIONING you for.
