"Your sensitivity is a curse. Strong people don't cry this much. Your emotions make you weak."
How it sounds in your head: You feel everything so deeply it's exhausting. A movie wrecks you for days. You absorb everyone's pain. You've been told to toughen up since childhood. By forty, you're wondering if something is fundamentally broken in you because you can't build the walls others have.
"Jesus wept."
-- John 11:35Toxic masculinity infiltrated the church, stoicism became the goal, culture mocks tenderness as weakness.
You're the only one crying at the missionary story. Your deep empathy feels like a liability in a world that rewards detachment. You've been hurt more because you feel more.
Jesus arrived at Lazarus's tomb, saw Mary weeping, and was 'deeply moved in spirit and troubled'—then wept publicly despite knowing He was about to raise Lazarus. His emotions weren't weakness; they were REVELATION of God's heart.
I REFUSE the lie that my sensitivity is a curse. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus wept, and if the Son of God felt deeply enough to cry, then my tears are HOLY. I am not too much—I am made in the image of a God who FEELS. IT IS WRITTEN in Psalm 56:8, 'You number my wanderings; put my tears into Your bottle.' Every tear I've cried is COLLECTED, not dismissed. My empathy isn't weakness—it's my SUPERPOWER. I feel what others miss. I carry what others avoid. The BARAK blessing covers my sensitivity—it's the channel through which heaven's compassion flows to a broken world.
The Father isn't waiting for you to toughen up—He's weeping WITH you because He feels everything you feel, only MORE. Your soft heart is the most accurate picture of His heart the world will see today.
