"Your period and hormones make you crazy, unreliable, and less rational."
How it sounds in your head: When you're upset during PMS, they dismiss it—'Oh, is it that time of the month?' Your emotions don't count. Your body's natural cycle is treated like a malfunction that makes you less than.
"For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother's womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well."
-- Psalm 139:13-14World: Misogyny disguised as biology to invalidate female experience
You've heard the jokes your whole life. Cramps are dismissed as 'just part of being a girl.' Mood changes are mocked instead of understood. You feel like your body betrays you monthly and everyone notices.
She bled for 12 years—ceremonially unclean, socially isolated, medically dismissed. When she touched Jesus in FAITH despite her 'female issue,' He called her DAUGHTER, healed her INSTANTLY, and commended her FAITH—not her cycle's status.
I REFUSE the lie that my period or hormones make me defective, crazy, or less rational. IT IS WRITTEN that Father FORMED my inward parts, including my cycle and hormones—MARVELOUS are His works. My design is VERY GOOD, not a malfunction. IT IS WRITTEN in Genesis 1:27 that God created MALE AND FEMALE in His image—both equally image-bearers. My emotions are VALID, my experiences REAL, my design INTENTIONAL. Father runs toward me celebrating my WHOLE design, calling it fearfully and wonderfully made.
Father doesn't dismiss your cycle or emotions as defects—He runs toward you celebrating the MARVELOUS work of your design, calling every part of you fearfully and wonderfully made, including your hormones, your cycle, your female body.
