"Your mistakes disqualified you. If you'd made better choices earlier, you'd be blessed now."
How it sounds in your head: I look back and see divorce, broken relationships, financial disasters, wrong turns. Other women my age who made better choices are comfortable now. I'm reaping what I sowed.
"For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable."
-- Romans 11:29Religion's karma gospel - makes blessing about your choices instead of Christ's finished work and covenant grace.
She can literally trace current struggles to past decisions. Friends who chose differently seem more blessed and religion told her God's blessing follows behavior.
Five failed marriages, currently living with a man not her husband, avoided townspeople out of shame. Jesus didn't address her lifestyle - He offered living water and made her the first evangelist to Samaria, bringing the whole city to Him.
I REFUSE the lie that my mistakes disqualified me. IT IS WRITTEN that the gifts and calling of God are IRREVOCABLE - not conditional on perfect choices. I am Abraham's seed and the BARAK blessing is mine - it protected liars, deceivers, murderers, adulterers and still flowed because it's based on COVENANT, not character. IT IS WRITTEN that there is NO condemnation to those in Christ Jesus. The blood of Jesus doesn't cover good mistakes - it covers BAD ones. The Father doesn't grade my past - He runs toward me with the robe and ring while I still smell like pigs.
The Father isn't reviewing your choices - He's running toward you like He ran to the prodigal who blew everything on prostitutes. Ring, robe, sandals, party BEFORE cleanup, based on SONSHIP not behavior.
