"Your mental health struggles disqualify you from being powerfully used by God."
How it sounds in your head: Leaders are supposed to be strong and stable. You're anxious, depressed, can't get out of bed some days. How can God use someone who's barely holding it together? Prophets and apostles didn't need therapy. Your brokenness is proof you don't have what it takes.
"And He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.'"
-- 2 Corinthians 12:9Religious expectation that anointing requires emotional perfection, contradicting Scripture's pattern of using deeply broken people.
Church platforms showcase put-together people. Youth leaders seem to have it all figured out emotionally. You compare your internal chaos to others' external composure. Mental health feels like a spiritual failure others don't struggle with.
Just called down fire from heaven, defeated 450 prophets, one of the most powerful ministry moments in Scripture. Immediately after, suicidal, depressed, hiding in a cave, begging to die. God didn't remove him from service—He FED HIM, spoke gently, and CONTINUED using him powerfully.
I REFUSE the lie that mental health struggles disqualify me from God's power. IT IS WRITTEN that His strength is made PERFECT in my weakness—not someday when I'm healed, but NOW in the middle of the battle. Elijah was suicidal after his greatest miracle; God STILL used him. My Father doesn't require emotional perfection; He offers PERFECT STRENGTH in my imperfection. IT IS WRITTEN there is NO condemnation for those in Christ. My anxiety doesn't change my position as the righteousness of God. I declare STRENGTH IN WEAKNESS, POWER IN BROKENNESS, and ANOINTING IN THE MIDST of the struggle. The BARAK doesn't wait for my mental health to stabilize; it's ACTIVE NOW.
Your Father isn't waiting for you to get emotionally stable before He uses you—some of the most powerful moves of God happen THROUGH people in the middle of their deepest pain. The robe and ring aren't rewards for healing; they're gifts IN the struggle.
