"I'm too weak and dependent now—I've become the burden I always feared being."
How it sounds in your head: You need help getting dressed. Someone else drives you to appointments. You can't even open a jar. The strong provider is gone, replaced by this dependent shell. You're the burden you swore you'd never be.
"And He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me."
-- 2 Corinthians 12:9Cultural lie of male provider identity—that your worth equals your strength and independence, not your belovedness.
Every task he can't do alone, every time he needs help, reinforces this. A lifetime of being 'the strong one' makes dependence feel like failure and shame.
Told God 'I am slow of speech and slow of tongue'—weak, inadequate, disqualified. God's response: 'WHO made man's mouth? Now GO, and I will be WITH YOUR MOUTH.' God used the weakness Moses feared most to confront Pharaoh and deliver a nation.
I REFUSE the lie that dependence equals worthlessness. IT IS WRITTEN that God's strength is made PERFECT in my weakness—my limitations showcase His sufficiency. Moses was 'slow of speech' and God made him His mouthpiece to nations. IT IS WRITTEN in Psalm 46:1 that God is my STRENGTH and my ever-present HELP. My worth isn't in what I can do—it's in whose I AM. I declare MOSES WEAKNESS-TO-POWER over my limitations.
The Father doesn't love you more when you're strong and independent—He delights in being YOUR strength. The Prodigal came home EMPTY and BROKEN, and the Father RAN to embrace him, not waiting for him to clean up or stand on his own.
