"Your body is too broken for intimacy and beauty. That part of your life is over forever."
How it sounds in your head: I don't recognize myself anymore. Everything sags, hurts, or doesn't work right. My husband sees an old woman. I feel like that part of womanhood died and I'm just supposed to accept it.
"I am my beloved's, and his desire is toward me."
-- Song of Solomon 7:10World's youth worship + religious shame about older women's sexuality - erases the ongoing beauty and desire God designed for marriage.
Her body has literally changed - menopause, weight, medical issues. Culture screams that sexuality belongs only to the young and she believes the lie that God agrees.
At 90 years old, laughed when told she'd have a baby because she said 'After I have grown old, shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?' God didn't rebuke her body - He gave her the baby AND the pleasure at 90.
I REFUSE the lie that intimacy and beauty ended with youth. IT IS WRITTEN that I am my beloved's and his desire IS toward me - present tense, now, today. By His stripes I WAS healed - every function, every hormone, every response belongs to me by covenant. IT IS WRITTEN that the glory of the latter house shall be greater than the former. My value was never my firm skin - it was His image I carry. The Father doesn't see decay - He sees Sarah at 90 getting pregnant and asking 'Shall I have PLEASURE?' The answer was YES.
The Father isn't resigned to your physical changes - He's running toward you with the same body-restoring power that healed 12-year illnesses instantly. Beauty and pleasure aren't youth rights - they're covenant promises.
