"You wasted your one shot at sports. Quit too early. Too late to go back now."
How it sounds in your head: I quit baseball in fifth grade because it was hard, and now I see those guys getting varsity letters and I'm on the couch. I made the wrong choice and now it's too late to start over. Coaches don't want beginners in eighth grade. I missed my window to be an athlete. One bad decision killed years of possibilities.
"Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a NEW thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert."
-- Isaiah 43:18-19Enemy using one past decision to lock down all future potential.
He watches former teammates succeed while he feels like a quitter. The gap in skill and experience seems impossible to close, and he believes coaches and teams only want kids who've been training for years.
Peter fished ALL NIGHT (professional fisherman, best techniques, years of experience) and caught ZERO fish. Jesus gave one instruction at dawn, and Peter caught 153 fish instantly—so many the net nearly broke. From total failure to overwhelming success in ONE CAST.
I REFUSE the lie that past decisions lock out future possibilities. IT IS WRITTEN that God does a NEW thing and makes roads in wildernesses. I am not defined by what I quit—I am defined by the One who never quits on me. God doesn't need years of training to do miracles; He needs one moment of obedience. IT IS WRITTEN I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me. I am Abraham's seed, and the BARAK makes me the head and not the tail in whatever I put my hand to. My timeline is not traditional—it's SUPERNATURAL. God gets glory from comeback stories, not just never-quit stories.
The Father doesn't cross His arms saying 'you should have stuck with it.' He's the God of second chances, third chances, infinite chances. He sees the athlete in you that's still there, waiting, and He's ready to release it the moment you are.
