Too Late
"You wasted your degree—now it's too late to switch to what you actually love."

How it sounds in your head: You spent four years and thousands of dollars on a degree you hate using. Starting over now means admitting failure, going back to entry-level, looking foolish. You're stuck.

Philippians 3:13-14

"Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus."

-- Philippians 3:13-14
Enemy whispers: 'You wasted years; you're stuck with your bad choice.' BUT IT IS WRITTEN: Philippians 3:13-14—'Forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead.' Paul wrote this after spending YEARS persecuting Christians—and God turned his entire past around instantly. IT IS WRITTEN in Joel 2:25 that God restores the years the locusts have eaten. Your past investment doesn't lock you into a future you don't want. God redeems, redirects, and restores faster than logic allows.
Quick Truth: LIE: You're stuck with your degree choice. TRUTH: Forget what's behind; press toward what's ahead. Philippians 3:13-14

Religion: Sunk cost fallacy dressed as stewardship; the idea that changing course dishonors past investment.

Why this feels true:

Every loan payment reminds you of the path you chose. Pivoting now feels financially irresponsible and like admitting you were wrong when everyone warned you to be practical.

Matthew 9:9
Matthew the Tax Collector

Matthew had built an entire career as a tax collector—despised, lucrative, established. Jesus said, 'Follow Me,' and Matthew left it ALL immediately to pursue what he was actually created for, becoming a Gospel writer instead of a revenue collector.

Speak this out loud

I REFUSE the lie that my past choices lock me into a future I don't want or that switching paths means failure. IT IS WRITTEN that I forget what's behind and press toward what's ahead. God doesn't waste anything—He redeems it all. IT IS WRITTEN in Romans 8:28 that ALL things work together for good for those who love God. My degree isn't a prison sentence; it's part of a story God is writing. The BARAK blessing means I'm blessed coming in and going out, in every season and transition. The Father who welcomed the prodigal after he blew EVERYTHING doesn't condemn me for pivoting—He celebrates courage to pursue His call.

But God actually:

The Father doesn't shame you for past choices—He's the God who told Paul to forget what's behind and run toward what's ahead. He redeems wasted years in an instant because His mercies are new every morning, not just at age 22.
