"Years of trying prove God's timing isn't now, so I should lower my expectations."
How it sounds in your head: Five years. Ten years. Maybe God's answer is 'not yet' or 'not this way.' Perhaps you're supposed to be content with your current reality. Lower your expectations and you won't be disappointed. Acceptance might be the spiritual path.
"By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised."
-- Hebrews 11:11Religious passivity disguised as patience; the enemy rebrands resignation as maturity.
Extended waiting feels like divine commentary. Protecting yourself from hope seems wise after repeated disappointment. Lowering expectations feels like emotional survival.
Elizabeth was barren her ENTIRE marriage into old age—called barren publicly, ridiculed for decades. Then in her OLD AGE, God opened her womb and she conceived John the Baptist in her sixth month Mary conceived Jesus—Elizabeth's miracle preceded the Messiah.
I REFUSE the lie that years of waiting mean I should lower my expectations. IT IS WRITTEN that Sarah received strength to conceive when she was PAST THE AGE because she judged God FAITHFUL. She waited 25 YEARS after the promise. Elizabeth was barren into OLD AGE, then conceived the forerunner of Messiah. IT IS WRITTEN that my God gives LIFE to the dead and calls things that are not as though they were. My Father specializes in LATE-STAGE miracles so no one can claim natural explanation. Hannah waited years while mocked, then birthed the prophet who changed Israel. I stand under the BARAK blessing where timing is always PERFECT for maximum glory to God.
Your Father isn't asking you to lower expectations after long waiting—He's building testimony. Sarah waited 25 years, Elizabeth until old age, and Hannah through years of mockery, then ALL conceived when natural explanation was impossible. He's running toward you with the promise that defies clocks and calendars.
