"We've always been poor—wealth isn't for families like mine"
How it sounds in your head: Nobody in my family has ever had money. We're the ones who struggle, who borrow, who make do. Rich people are different than us. That's just not our world.
"And if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise."
-- Galatians 3:29Religion and poverty spirit combining to make financial struggle an identity instead of a defeated enemy
You've never seen anyone in your family with financial margin. Every relative you know lives paycheck to paycheck. It feels like a genetic condition.
Blew his ENTIRE inheritance on prostitutes and wild living, ended up broke and feeding pigs, didn't have money for food. Came home and the Father INSTANTLY restored him to full sonship—best robe, ring of authority, sandals, fattened calf, party. From bankrupt to blessed in 15 minutes.
I REFUSE the lie that poverty is my family identity. IT IS WRITTEN that I am Abraham's seed and HEIR according to the promise. My family's financial history does NOT determine my covenant reality. Christ redeemed me from the curse of poverty so that the BLESSING OF ABRAHAM would come upon me. IT IS WRITTEN in Deuteronomy 28:12 that the Lord will open to me His good treasure and I will LEND to many and borrow from NONE. The BARAK protected Abraham's wealth even when he lied—how much more does it protect mine in the BETTER covenant? I am the HEAD and not the tail, ABOVE ONLY and not beneath. Wealth is not for 'families like mine'—wealth is for SONS, and I am a SON.
The Father doesn't see you as 'the poor kid trying to climb out.' He sees you as the HEIR who's been in the will since before you were born. He's not waiting for you to prove you can handle money—He's already commanded blessing on your storehouses because you're Abraham's seed.
