"We're just an angry family—rage is in our nature."
How it sounds in your head: Your father had a temper, you've struggled with anger your whole life, your son explodes at his kids. It's like there's this volcanic fury in your family DNA. Seventy-six years and you still feel that heat rising—you've just learned to hide it better.
"Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you."
-- Ephesians 4:31-32Enemy: Attributes anger to nature/DNA so you won't see it as a demon you can cast out, making temperament feel immutable.
She's witnessed explosive anger, violent outbursts, or chronic rage across generations. She's felt it in herself for decades, even in her seventies. It feels like biology, not choice.
Moses had an anger problem—killed an Egyptian in rage (Exodus 2:12), struck the rock in fury instead of speaking to it. Yet Numbers 12:3 calls him 'more humble than all men on the face of the earth'—his nature TRANSFORMED. God changed his temperament.
I REFUSE the lie that anger is my family DNA. IT IS WRITTEN in Ephesians 4:31 to PUT AWAY all anger—it's removable, not permanent. IT IS WRITTEN in Galatians 5:22 that the fruit of the Spirit is GENTLENESS and SELF-CONTROL—I'm a branch in the Vine, so that fruit is automatic in me. I have the NATURE OF CHRIST now (2 Peter 1:4). I'm not 'an angry woman'—I'm KIND, TENDERHEARTED, FORGIVING (Ephesians 4:32). The rage stops with me.
Your Father sees seventy-six years of volcano inside and He's not condemning the explosion—He's pouring His peace like cool water over that lava, whispering 'I see the hurt underneath. Let Me hold the pain so you can release the rage.'
