"We'll never get on the same page financially; we're too different."
How it sounds in your head: I'm a saver, she's a spender. I think long-term, she thinks about now. We've had the same fight a hundred times. Maybe we're just incompatible when it comes to money.
"Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?"
-- Amos 3:3World system—the belief that unity comes from similarity rather than covenant, that agreement is earned through compatibility rather than received through grace.
Your different approaches to money feel like fundamental personality conflicts rather than opportunities for complementary strengths. The repeated conflicts make change feel impossible.
This married couple worked together making tents, traveled together in ministry, and hosted church in their home—yet Scripture never records them having identical personalities or approaches. They were united in PURPOSE (the Gospel) not in PERSONALITY, and they became so financially blessed they could support Paul's ministry, travel freely, and own property in multiple cities.
I REFUSE the lie that my spouse and I will never agree financially. IT IS WRITTEN that two can walk together when they are agreed, and our agreement isn't based on identical personalities but on identical POSITION—both in Christ, both under grace, both blessed with the BLESSING OF ABRAHAM. Our differences are not division—they're DESIGN. IT IS WRITTEN that God commands blessing on our storehouse, makes us the head and not the tail, causes us to lend and not borrow. That blessing doesn't require us to be clones—it requires us to be COVENANT. We are one flesh, one future, one supernatural increase coming.
Your Father didn't make you identical—He made you complementary. What you call 'incompatible' He calls 'complete.' He's not waiting for you to fix each other before He blesses you. He's already releasing provision, wisdom, and unity as GIFTS to stewarded together.
