"Wealth without work is lazy - I have to hustle for every dollar or it doesn't count"
How it sounds in your head: The thought of receiving wealth you didn't grind for feels dishonest, like cheating. You've been taught that the value of money is tied to the sweat that earned it. Money that comes easy doesn't feel 'real' or deserved. You have to WORK for it, or you're just a lazy freeloader.
"Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?"
-- Matthew 6:26Source: World's Protestant work ethic twisted into salvation-by-labor, making REST feel like SIN
Your parents, teachers, coaches all said the same thing: nothing worth having comes easy. You've equated struggle with value, so provision without labor feels morally wrong, like you're gaming the system.
God gave them cities they didn't build, houses full of goods they didn't gather, wells they didn't dig, vineyards they didn't plant. They INHERITED wealth they didn't work for—and God called that His BLESSING, not laziness.
I REFUSE the lie that wealth without grinding is lazy or undeserved. IT IS WRITTEN that birds don't sow or reap, yet the Father feeds them—and I am worth MORE (Matthew 6:26). The BARAK blessing gives me houses I didn't fill, wells I didn't dig, vineyards I didn't plant (Deuteronomy 6:10-11). IT IS WRITTEN that the wealth of the sinner is stored up for ME (Proverbs 13:22)—they did the work, I get the transfer. I am Abraham's seed by covenant, and receiving provision I didn't earn is not laziness—it's INHERITANCE. I rest in His provision like a son, not a slave.
Your Father isn't grading you by how much you sweat—He's trying to give you cities you didn't build and vineyards you didn't plant. He's not waiting for you to earn it through exhaustion; He's running toward you with blessing you did NOTHING to deserve, because that's the entire point of GRACE.
