"Wealth belongs to the younger generation—I should decrease so they can increase."
How it sounds in your head: You hear it everywhere: 'OK Boomer,' wealth transfer to millennials, how your generation 'had it easier.' There's cultural pressure to step aside, downsize, make room. You feel guilty having needs when grandkids are starting out. It seems humble and right to decrease.
"The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree, he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those who are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bear fruit in old age; they shall be fresh and flourishing."
-- Psalm 92:12-14Source: world system that discards the elderly, opposing God's kingdom where age brings honor and continued blessing.
Society celebrates youth and innovation while marginalizing older generations. You feel the cultural shift and internalize the message that your season of receiving is over—now it's about giving what's left.
Caleb at 85 years old didn't ask for a retirement condo—he demanded the MOUNTAIN with GIANTS on it, declaring 'I am as strong today as I was at 40.' He received his inheritance in old age and conquered it—increase, not decrease.
I REFUSE the lie that blessing belongs only to the young. IT IS WRITTEN in Psalm 92:14 that the righteous bear fruit in OLD AGE and are FRESH and FLOURISHING. Caleb took his mountain at 85. Abraham had Isaac at 100. The BARAK blessing doesn't have an expiration date—it COMPOUNDS with time. IT IS WRITTEN in Deuteronomy 28:13 that I am the HEAD not the tail, ABOVE not beneath—no age limit. I don't decrease so others increase; I flourish AND they flourish. I receive fresh provision and new opportunities TODAY.
The Father doesn't put you out to pasture while you're still breathing—His plan is for you to flourish like a palm tree, bearing fruit in every season, fresh and green in old age. While the world is writing you off as past your prime, He's preparing new territories, new provision, new purpose, because in His kingdom, the latter glory exceeds the former.
