"Wanting success and wealth means I love money more than God."
How it sounds in your head: Jesus said you can't serve God and money. If I'm thinking about finances or wanting success, that must mean I've chosen money over God. My desires for prosperity prove my heart is in the wrong place.
"But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you."
-- Matthew 6:33False dichotomy that wanting provision equals worshiping provision - confusing stewardship with idolatry.
He's heard sermons about 'you can't serve two masters' and thinks any financial desire is automatic disqualification. Desire itself feels like betrayal of spiritual priorities.
David died 'full of days, riches, and honor' after a lifetime of wholehearted worship. His wealth didn't compete with his devotion - it FUNDED the temple he designed for God's glory. Riches and righteousness coexisted.
I REFUSE the lie that wanting success means I love money more than God. IT IS WRITTEN: Seek FIRST the kingdom and all these things are ADDED. I get BOTH - not either/or. IT IS WRITTEN I cannot SERVE money, but I can STEWARD money while serving God. Abraham had wealth and altars. David had riches and worship. The issue is LORDSHIP, not possession. Money is a TOOL in my hand, not a master over my heart. The BARAK blessing includes provision because my Father wants me RESOURCED for my assignment. Wanting success isn't betrayal of spiritual priorities - it's ALIGNMENT with His desire to prosper me as my soul prospers. I seek His kingdom first, and watch Him add houses, land, resources, favor, and influence. Not because I've earned it, but because I'm His SON, and sons get access to EVERYTHING the Father has.
Your Father is running toward you with the signet ring - the symbol of access to the FAMILY WEALTH. He's not making you choose between relationship and resources. He's giving you BOTH because in His house, sons don't beg - they RECEIVE.
