How it sounds in your head: Sometimes I wish we had a nicer house or I could get new clothes instead of hand-me-downs. But then I feel guilty—like wanting those things means I'm materialistic or don't have faith. Maybe godly people are supposed to be happy being poor and I'm bad for wanting more.

Church messages and well-meaning adults have connected contentment with poverty and desire with greed, making her natural wishes for provision feel like spiritual failure. Wanting feels wrong, like evidence of shallow faith.
Wedding ran out of wine—social disaster, not life-or-death need. Jesus didn't lecture about contentment or say they should be happy with water—He made 180 gallons of the FINEST wine, far more than needed, BETTER quality than they started with, immediate supernatural abundance for a party.
I REFUSE the lie that desiring provision means I'm greedy or lack faith. IT IS WRITTEN that the Lord has PLEASURE in the prosperity of His servant—my abundance brings Him JOY, not disappointment. God is not a stingy father waiting for me to prove I can be happy with nothing; He's a GOOD Father who delights in giving good gifts to His children. IT IS WRITTEN in Matthew 7:11 that if earthly fathers know how to give good gifts, how much MORE will my heavenly Father give good things to those who ask. Wanting nice things isn't materialism—it's recognizing my Father's generous nature. The same Jesus who made 180 gallons of finest wine for a party loves to give me ABUNDANCE. I receive His provision without guilt, without shame, with JOY.
The Father doesn't see your desires for provision as evidence of greed—He sees His daughter recognizing His generous nature, and He's running toward you with MORE than you even thought to ask for, the finest wine instead of water, abundance that reflects His pleasure in prospering you.
