"Rich people got theirs through greed, luck, or corruption—it's not godly."
How it sounds in your head: Money corrupts. The love of money is the root of all evil. Wealthy people are greedy. It's easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle. Maybe my poverty proves I'm more righteous than they are.
"And you shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day."
-- Deuteronomy 8:18Religious wealth-shaming mixed with envy justification and poverty gospel that makes lack a virtue and abundance a sin.
She knows scriptures about money's dangers. She sees corrupt wealthy people in the news. Her poverty feels spiritually safe compared to their excess.
Abraham was 'very rich in livestock, silver, and gold.' Pharaoh gave him sheep, oxen, donkeys, camels, servants because of God's blessing. He got RICHER through favor, not corruption—and God called him righteous and made covenant with him.
I REFUSE the lie that wealth is ungodly. IT IS WRITTEN that GOD gives power to get wealth to establish His covenant—it's His design, not devil's trap. Abraham was extremely rich AND righteous. Job was wealthiest AND blameless. IT IS WRITTEN that the BARAK blessing includes full storehouses, lending not borrowing, head not tail. Poverty doesn't prove my righteousness—JESUS proves my righteousness. Lack doesn't make me holy—the BLOOD makes me holy. I reject the poverty gospel. I embrace the covenant blessing. I am Abraham's seed and heir to his abundance.
Your Father doesn't want you poor to keep you pure—He wants you blessed to display His goodness. The blessing includes WEALTH because He's a good Dad who gives good gifts, not a miser who sanctifies through starvation.
