"True believers never struggle with unbelief; my constant wavering proves I'm not chosen."
How it sounds in your head: I believe one moment and doubt the next. Real Christians are solid. I'm a mess of contradictions. Paul was confident. I'm confused. Maybe I was never really chosen at all.
"Just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love."
-- Ephesians 1:4Religious lie that mature faith has no tension, when Scripture shows even heroes wrestled with belief and doubt simultaneously.
He sees his internal warfare—belief vs. doubt, hope vs. fear—and assumes it means he's spiritually illegitimate. He doesn't see others' internal struggles, only their external confidence.
When the eleven disciples saw the RESURRECTED JESUS on the mountain, Scripture says 'they worshiped Him; but SOME DOUBTED.' Seeing Jesus alive from the dead and STILL doubting—yet He commissioned them anyway with 'Go make disciples of all nations.' Doubt didn't disqualify them.
I REFUSE the lie that wavering proves I'm not chosen. IT IS WRITTEN that God chose me BEFORE the foundation of the world—before I had a single thought to waver. Peter denied Jesus three times and was STILL called 'My disciple.' IT IS WRITTEN the disciples doubted even SEEING the resurrected Jesus, yet He commissioned them. I am SEALED by the Holy Spirit, and no internal turbulence can break that seal. I am a BRANCH in the VINE—some days the wind shakes me, but I'm ATTACHED. The BARAK blessing protected Abraham when he LIED TWICE. My wavering doesn't undo God's eternal choice. I am HIS, chosen before time began.
The Father didn't choose you based on your future consistency—He chose you in eternity past knowing EVERY doubt you'd have, and He said 'MINE' anyway. You can't un-choose yourself from an eternal decision.
