"Tithing is Old Testament law and doesn't apply under grace."
How it sounds in your head: I've heard teachers say we're not under law anymore, so tithing was just for Israel. Under grace, I give what I feel led to give, when I feel led. That's real freedom, not religious obligation.
"Here mortal men receive tithes, but there he receives them, of whom it is witnessed that he lives."
-- Hebrews 7:8Religious spirits twist grace into license, robbing believers of the covenant door to supernatural increase.
Levitical laws don't apply to Christians—we don't sacrifice animals or avoid pork. Seems logical that tithing falls in the same category as ceremonial law.
Abraham gave Melchizedek (a type of Christ) a tenth of ALL the spoils of war—430 years before Moses, before the law, before Israel existed. This was pure faith and honor, and God cut an unconditional covenant with him immediately after, promising BARAK blessing on all his seed.
I REFUSE the lie that grace cancels tithing—grace FULFILLS it under a better priesthood. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus receives my tithes as eternal High Priest after the order of Melchizedek. Abraham tithed before the law; I tithe under BETTER promises. The BARAK blessing flows through the tithe door—it's not religious duty, it's covenant ACCESS. IT IS WRITTEN in Matthew 23:23 that Jesus said tithing should be DONE without neglecting justice and mercy. I'm not under law—I'm under the BLESSING that law could never produce. I tithe because I'm Abraham's seed and heirs don't ignore inheritance keys.
Your Father doesn't want your tithe to CHECK A BOX—He wants it to unlock the storehouse He's already filled for you. Like the father who placed the ring on the prodigal's finger to RESTORE authority, tithing restores your authority over finances through covenant.
