"This is my new normal—I need to lower my expectations and accept limitation."
How it sounds in your head: The doctors keep saying 'adjust your lifestyle' and 'set realistic expectations.' Maybe I'm being prideful wanting more. Maybe acceptance is maturity. Maybe faith means accepting what God allows.
"So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the crawling locust, the consuming locust, and the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you."
-- Joel 2:25Religious teaching that acceptance of disease is humility, denying that resistance is biblical faith.
Medical professionals frame limitation as wisdom. Other believers say 'God's will' about their sickness. Adjustment feels like maturity.
Blind beggar told to be quiet and accept his lot. He REFUSED to accept 'new normal' and cried out LOUDER. Jesus said 'What do you want?'—Bartimaeus demanded sight and IMMEDIATELY received it, following Jesus on the road.
I REFUSE the lie that limitation is my new normal! IT IS WRITTEN that God will RESTORE the years the locust has eaten—He's a RESTORING God, not a managing God. My 'normal' is ABUNDANT LIFE, divine health, and the BARAK blessing. IT IS WRITTEN that with long life He will satisfy me and show me His salvation. I will NOT agree with the thief's agenda of limitation. Like Bartimaeus, I cry LOUDER when told to settle. I am Abraham's seed—my covenant says BLESSED coming in and going out, ABOVE and not beneath!
Your Father isn't asking you to lower expectations—He's raising the dead. He gave the prodigal the BEST robe, not a 'good enough' hand-me-down. His 'new normal' for you is RESTORATION.
