"I have to accept this as my new normal and stop hoping for healing."
How it sounds in your head: Everyone says I need to 'come to terms with it.' Doctors say it's lifelong. My therapist says acceptance is healthy. Fighting it seems delusional. Maybe hope is just making it harder.
"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope."
-- Jeremiah 29:11Religious resignation disguised as maturity—enemy convincing her that faith is foolishness and surrender to sickness is wisdom.
Every medical professional uses the word 'chronic'—meaning permanent. Well-meaning adults praise her for 'accepting reality.' Hope feels exhausting when nothing changes.
He had been sick for 38 YEARS—nearly four decades of 'this is just how it is.' Jesus asked 'Do you want to be made well?' and IMMEDIATELY he was healed—no acceptance speech required, just instant wholeness.
I REFUSE the lie that I must accept sickness as my normal. IT IS WRITTEN that God's thoughts toward me are for a FUTURE and a HOPE, not disease management. My 'new normal' is the resurrection life of Christ flowing through my body. I will NOT call chronic what Jesus calls temporary. IT IS WRITTEN in Romans 8:11 that the Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead GIVES LIFE to my mortal body. The BARAK blessing declares I am blessed in my body, not cursed with lifelong illness. What the medical world calls permanent, Heaven calls FINISHED at the cross. I am HEALED.
The Father isn't asking you to accept sickness—He's asking you to accept His nature, which is HEALER. He's running toward you with the same power that raised dead Lazarus, not a pamphlet on 'living well with chronic illness.' The party He's throwing celebrates your HEALING, not your coping skills.
