"This diagnosis is God's way of slowing me down and teaching me rest."
How it sounds in your head: You were running at full speed—work, kids, ministry, everything. Maybe God had to force you into bed rest with this illness because you wouldn't slow down on your own. Maybe exhaustion is His curriculum for Sabbath.
"Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."
-- Matthew 11:28Religious belief that God authors disease to enforce life lessons, making sickness a divine intervention instead of an enemy attack.
You were burnt out before the diagnosis, and now you're physically unable to maintain the pace. It feels redemptive to frame forced rest as God's plan rather than the enemy's theft.
He was burnt out, suicidal, and collapsed under a tree wanting to die. God didn't give him a disease to enforce rest—He sent an angel with food, let him sleep, touched him gently, and strengthened him for the next journey with supernatural provision.
I REFUSE the lie that God gave me this diagnosis to teach me rest. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus invites me to rest in Him, offering an easy yoke and light burden. My Father doesn't author disease to enforce boundaries—He offers grace to learn them. I am a branch abiding in the Vine; rest comes from CONNECTION, not collapse. IT IS WRITTEN that I am Abraham's seed under the BARAK blessing of health and strength. Like Elijah, I receive supernatural strengthening and gentle restoration, not disease-induced shutdown. Jesus took my infirmities; I receive healing and true rest simultaneously.
The Father isn't forcing you into bed with illness to teach you rest—He's inviting you into His presence where rest is a gift freely given. He's running toward you with healing and peace, not using disease as a boundary-enforcement tool.
