"These demonic dreams and nightmares mean I'm under a curse or there's unconfessed sin giving access."
How it sounds in your head: I wake up terrified from these dreams. They feel so dark and evil. Maybe there's hidden sin I haven't dealt with. Maybe someone cursed me. Maybe I'm not praying enough before bed or my thought life isn't pure enough.
"No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me, says the Lord."
-- Isaiah 54:17Source: Teaching that blames the victim for spiritual attacks and treats nightmares as evidence of personal failure rather than enemy harassment.
The dreams feel too vivid and targeted to be random, and she's been taught that 'perfect love casts out fear,' so ongoing fear must mean something is wrong with HER. The shame of 'what did I do to deserve this' feels more believable than 'I'm just being attacked.'
Joseph had dreams that were SO threatening to the enemy that his own brothers wanted to kill him over them. The enemy attacked through jealousy, betrayal, false accusation—but couldn't stop the dream from coming true. Not all intense dreams are FROM the enemy; some THREATEN the enemy.
I REFUSE the lie that nightmares mean I'm cursed or in sin. IT IS WRITTEN: Isaiah 54:17—no weapon formed against me shall prosper. Curses don't work on covenant children. IT IS WRITTEN: Galatians 3:13—Christ redeemed me from the curse of the law. I am under BLESSING, not curse. I am covered by the BARAK—the Abrahamic blessing that protected even when they sinned. My sleep is PROTECTED. I take authority over every nightmare in Jesus' name and I rest in peace.
The Father isn't using nightmares to punish you or expose your sin—He's the one who 'gives His beloved sleep' (Psalm 127:2). He's not waiting for you to be pure enough to rest; He's inviting you to rest BECAUSE you're already pure through Christ's blood.
