"There must be unconfessed sin blocking my prayers from getting through to God."
How it sounds in your head: You know you're not perfect. Maybe it's that thing you haven't fully dealt with. The anger. The porn struggle. That bitterness toward your dad. Maybe God won't answer until you get completely clean. You've confessed some stuff, but what if you missed something? What if there's a sin you don't even remember that's blocking everything?
"And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you ALL trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross."
-- Colossians 2:13-14Source: Religion teaching that God withholds based on your sin record, turning the cross into partial payment that needs your confession to complete it.
You know areas where you're not where you should be. The enemy whispers about them constantly. Psalm 66:18 comes to mind—'If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear.' Seems like clear cause and effect.
Manasseh was the WORST king of Judah—practiced witchcraft, sacrificed his own sons to demons, filled Jerusalem with innocent blood, led entire nation into abomination for 55 years. When he finally cried out to God from captivity, God IMMEDIATELY heard him, received his plea, and RESTORED him to his kingdom—instant answer despite horrific sin record.
I REFUSE the lie that my sin blocks God's ears. IT IS WRITTEN that He has forgiven me ALL trespasses and nailed the record of my sins to the cross. My access to the Father is not based on perfect confession—it's based on PERFECT BLOOD. The righteousness of Christ covers what I remember and what I don't. IT IS WRITTEN that the blood of Jesus speaks better things than the blood of Abel—it speaks MERCY, not judgment. I am the righteousness of God IN CHRIST. The BARAK blessing protected liars, deceivers, and murderers by covenant—how much more does Christ's blood give me access NOW. I declare my prayers are heard because I am IN CHRIST.
Your Father isn't waiting behind a holy barrier until you remember and confess every sin. The blood of Jesus already dealt with ALL of it—past, present, and future. Like the prodigal's father who ran to him while he STILL SMELLED LIKE PIGS, your Father receives you with full access RIGHT NOW, covered by the blood that speaks better things than your failures.
