"The years I lost to depression, addiction, or trauma can't be recovered."
How it sounds in your head: A decade in darkness. Years lost to medicating pain. Time swallowed by survival when others were building lives. Those years are gone - consumed by mental illness or trauma response while everyone else was thriving. You can't get back years spent just trying to breathe.
"But this is a people robbed and plundered; all of them are snared in holes, and they are hidden in prison houses; they are for prey, and no one delivers; for plunder, and no one says, 'Restore!'"
-- Isaiah 42:22Enemy's accusation that suffering years are wasted years - making God's redemption impotent against trauma's toll and mental illness's theft.
She literally lost time to conditions that consumed her life. She sees the gap between where she is and where she 'should be' if those years hadn't been stolen. The calendar doesn't lie - those years are objectively gone.
He spent YEARS naked, cutting himself, living in tombs, completely consumed by demons - no relationships, no productivity, no life, just torment and isolation. Jesus spoke, demons left, and IMMEDIATELY he was clothed, in his right mind, and sent out as an evangelist - instant restoration from years of stolen life.
I REFUSE the lie that years lost to trauma or depression are irredeemable. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus came to proclaim liberty to captives and recovery of sight to the blind, and I was bound but now am free. The years the locust of mental illness or trauma ate, God is restoring. IT IS WRITTEN that I am a new creation - not just from today forward but retroactively, as God redeems even my past suffering for present purpose. The demoniac lost years to torment and became an evangelist the same day he was freed. I receive divine restoration and supernatural recovery of everything the enemy stole while I was in survival mode. My suffering isn't wasted - it's my message.
The Father isn't tallying your lost years - He's transforming them into a testimony that will set captives free. While you mourn time consumed by darkness, He's preparing to use your survival as someone else's breakthrough, redeeming every stolen moment for eternal purpose.
