"The love of money is the root of evil, so wanting financial provision means my heart is wrong."
How it sounds in your head: You've heard it your whole life: 'Money is the root of all evil.' If you want provision, especially now, it means your heart is corrupt. Godly people don't think about money—they think about Jesus. Your desires are evidence of a carnal heart.
"For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows."
-- 1 Timothy 6:10Source: religion - Misquoted 1 Timothy 6:10 twisted to make ALL desire for money evil instead of the LOVE of it (idolatry).
Every sermon quotes 'money is the root of all evil,' and warns against greed. If you want more at 90+, it must mean you're greedy, especially since you should be focused on heaven, not earth.
Abraham was 'very rich in livestock, in silver, and in gold,' yet walked so closely with God that he was called 'friend of God' (James 2:23). Wealth didn't corrupt him—it funded his destiny and legacy for GENERATIONS.
I REFUSE the lie that wanting provision means my heart is evil. IT IS WRITTEN: The LOVE of money (idolatry) is evil, not money itself. Abraham was VERY RICH and called God's friend. Solomon had unmatched wealth and wrote Scripture. Job was richest in the East and BLAMELESS. IT IS WRITTEN: Deuteronomy 8:18 says God GIVES POWER to get wealth to establish His covenant. Provision isn't evidence of a corrupt heart—it's evidence of a COVENANT heart. I want money to GLORIFY God, bless generations, and live the abundant life Jesus died to give me. My desires are RIGHTEOUS.
Your Father doesn't cringe when you ask for provision—He cringe when religion taught you to feel GUILTY for asking. He's the one who told Israel to 'plunder Egypt'—take their gold and silver on the way out (Exodus 12:35-36). He WANTS you funded. The provision isn't the problem—the LIE that provision is evil is the problem.
