"The love is dead—you can't resurrect what no longer exists."
How it sounds in your head: I don't feel anything anymore. The spark is gone, the passion is dead. You can't manufacture love that's been extinguished. At my age, is it even worth trying?
"The LORD has appeared of old to me, saying: 'Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.'"
-- Jeremiah 31:3World lie that love is a feeling to be sustained by human effort rather than a covenant sustained by God's nature.
Her heart feels numb after years of disappointment. The butterflies are long gone, replaced by weary routine and emotional distance.
Peter BETRAYED Jesus three times, love seemingly destroyed. Jesus didn't lecture him—He cooked him BREAKFAST and asked three times, 'Do you love Me?' Instant restoration, instant re-commissioning.
I REFUSE the lie that love can die when God IS love. IT IS WRITTEN that He has loved me with an everlasting love that never ends. IT IS WRITTEN that love never fails—not sometimes, NEVER. The same Spirit who loved me while I was yet a sinner is pouring fresh love into my heart right now for my spouse. I am a branch attached to the Vine of infinite love. I don't manufacture it; I receive it. Love flows through me effortlessly because Christ IN me is love. I declare resurrection of affection, passion, and delight.
The Father isn't asking you to drum up feelings—He's pouring His own endless love through you like a fire hydrant, whether you feel it yet or not. The resurrection is ALREADY happening.
