"The devil is tormenting me with fear of death and I can't make it stop."
How it sounds in your head: Every night the fear comes. What if it hurts? What if I'm alone? What if I'm not really saved? The terror is suffocating. I can't escape it. It feels like demonic oppression.
"That through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage."
-- Hebrews 2:14-15Enemy: Using the unknown of death to terrorize her, making her forget that death is a defeated enemy and she's passing from glory to GREATER glory.
Death is the ultimate unknown, and the enemy exploits that mystery. Every pain, every labored breath becomes a preview of terror. The darkness of night amplifies every fear the enemy whispers.
Stephen was being stoned to death, should have been in agony and terror. Instead, he SAW HEAVEN OPEN and Jesus STANDING to receive him. He felt no pain—he said 'Lord, receive my spirit' and fell asleep. Death became an INSTANT painless transition to seeing Jesus face to face.
I REFUSE the lie that death will torment me. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus DESTROYED the devil's power over death. Death is a defeated enemy. IT IS WRITTEN that to be absent from the body is to be PRESENT with the Lord—this is not terror, this is HOMECOMING. Jesus Himself will walk me through. I will fear NO evil for HE IS WITH ME. Death is not the enemy winning—death is the DOORWAY to seeing His face. Satan has NO POWER in that moment. I am passing from glory to GREATER glory. Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.
Your Father isn't waiting on the other side—He's COMING to get you Himself. The moment of death isn't falling into darkness; it's falling into HIS ARMS. Every fear is about to dissolve in the light of His face.
