"The dark thoughts in my head mean I'm demon-possessed or going crazy."
How it sounds in your head: I have thoughts I would never choose—violent, blasphemous, sexual things that horrify me. If I was really saved, I wouldn't think these things. Something evil must be inside me controlling my mind.
"Casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ."
-- 2 Corinthians 10:5Enemy projecting his own thoughts into her mind, then accusing her of being the source, exploiting her lack of understanding about intrusive thoughts.
The thoughts feel foreign and horrible, completely contrary to who she wants to be, making her believe they must come from possession rather than spiritual attack. She doesn't know that the enemy can broadcast thoughts without inhabiting her.
Peter spoke Satan's words directly to Jesus—'This shall not happen to You!'—and Jesus rebuked Satan, not Peter's salvation. Peter wasn't possessed; he was broadcasting enemy thoughts, and Jesus corrected the source while keeping Peter as His disciple.
I REFUSE the lie that dark thoughts mean I'm possessed or crazy. IT IS WRITTEN that I cast down arguments and take thoughts captive—which means thoughts ATTACK me from outside, they are not my identity. The enemy is a broadcaster, and I have the authority to change the channel. IT IS WRITTEN that no weapon formed against me shall prosper, including the weapon of accusations disguised as my own thoughts. I have the mind of Christ, I am sealed with the Holy Spirit, and I am BLESSED with the BARAK—protected even when my mind feels under siege, because my safety is in covenant, not in perfect mental control.
The Father sees you battling enemy broadcasts and calls you WARRIOR, not crazy. He's not disgusted by the fight—He's proud you're standing, and He's already given you the authority to silence every lying voice through Jesus' name.
