"That thing I did last weekend was the final straw - God's patience ran out."
How it sounds in your head: I knew better and I did it anyway. I felt convicted before and ignored it, and now I've used up all my chances. God's not going to keep forgiving the same thing over and over. There's a limit to grace, and I hit it.
"Through the Lord's mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness."
-- Lamentations 3:22-23Religious teaching that God's patience operates like a punch card with limited uses.
He's repeated the same sin multiple times after promising God he wouldn't, and the shame feels cumulative. The silence after sinning feels like withdrawal of presence, confirming he's exhausted divine patience.
Peter denied Jesus three times with CURSES after three years of following Him, abandoned Him at His darkest hour, and went back to his old fishing life. Jesus made him breakfast on the beach, restored him with three affirmations, and gave him the keys to launch the Church - no probation period, no earning it back.
I REFUSE the lie that God's patience has a limit I can reach. IT IS WRITTEN in Lamentations 3:22-23 that His mercies are NEW EVERY MORNING - not depleted by yesterday's failure but FRESH today. The enemy wants me to believe grace operates on a punch card system, but that's OLD covenant thinking. IT IS WRITTEN in Romans 5:20 that where sin abounded, grace SUPER-ABOUNDED - it doesn't run out, it MULTIPLIES. I am covered by the BARAK blessing that protected Abraham when he lied TWICE, Isaac when he deceived, Jacob when he stole - their repeated failures didn't void the covenant. My Father's patience isn't tolerance waiting to snap - it's NATURE that cannot change.
Your Father knew about last weekend before the foundation of the world and STILL chose you. His mercies aren't recycled from yesterday's batch - they're manufactured fresh every morning with your name on them, and the supply is infinite.
