"Taking thyroid medication or blood pressure pills proves I'm not trusting God with my body."
How it sounds in your head: Every pill I take feels like a confession of unbelief. If I really believed God was my healer, wouldn't these conditions just disappear? My medicine cabinet is a shrine to my inadequate faith.
"Jesus answered and said to them, 'Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.'"
-- Luke 5:31Religious teaching that medical intervention competes with divine healing instead of partnering with it.
Healing testimonies always emphasize throwing away medications, creating guilt around managing chronic conditions. Her aging body requiring pharmaceutical support feels like proof she's failing spiritually.
Luke was both a physician and an apostle, traveling with Paul and writing Scripture. God never asked him to choose between medical practice and ministry - both were divine callings that worked together seamlessly.
I REFUSE the lie that medication and faith cannot coexist. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus affirmed the need for physicians. My Father is not offended by my thyroid pills or blood pressure medication - He provided the knowledge that created them. I am the righteousness of God in Christ, and my medical needs do not disqualify me from His blessing. IT IS WRITTEN in Luke 5:31 that the sick NEED physicians. I receive healing through prayer AND through medicine, both flowing from my Father's hand. The BARAK blessing over my life includes health through every good gift He provides.
Your Father sees your pill organizer and doesn't see failure - He sees a daughter wisely receiving the provision He placed in creation. He's not waiting for you to have enough faith to stop your meds. He's celebrating that you're managing your health with the tools He provided while resting in His nature as Healer.
